Day 1

 8:00-9:00 Introduction of course content and participants. Overview of prenatal and postpartum exercise: philosophy, precautions, contra-indications, ACOG guidelines.

9:00-9:15 Break

9:15-11:00 Observation/participation of demonstration Prenatal Exercise Class with pregnant women taught by Elizabeth Noble.

11:00-11:15 Break

11:15-1:00 Anatomy and Physiology of the Childbearing Year: Rationale for Prenatal, Postpartum and Post-Cesarean Exercises. Evaluation, modification and and progression of exercises.The high-risk prenatal patient, pre-existing conditions.

Day 2

8:00-10:00. Post test. Supervision of trainees teaching exercises.

10:00-10:15 Break

10:15-11:45 The Pelvic Floor: Anatomy, physiology, pathology, evaluation, therapeutic exercise. (Slides, video).. The Pathology of the Pubococcygeus by Arnold Kegel MD, (video).

11:45-12:00 Break

12:00-1:00 PT Modalities in OB-GYN (Slides).

 

Day 3

 8:00-10:00 Birth Videos: The Squatting Position Delivery, & Channel for a New Life (Elizabeth Noble and Leo Sorger, MD) Physiology of Normal Labor.

10:00-10:15 Break

10:15-11:30 Observation of Postpartum Exercise Class, Mother and Baby Exercises, Ball activities, Infant Massage, with postpartum mothers and babies, led by Elizabeth Noble.

11:30-11:45 Break

11:45-1:00 Relaxation, guided imagery. (Experiential session).

 

Day 4

 8:00-9:30 Supervision of trainees instructing Postpartum Exercise Class, Mother and Baby Exercises, Ball Activities, Infant Massage.

9:30- 9:45 Break

9:45-11:30 Controversies in Childbirth Preparation.

11:30-11:45 Break

11:45-12:30 Marketing, billing, reimbursement of OB-GYN PT Services.

12:30-1:00 Polarity Energy Balancing (experiential session).
